Pro TEAMS
You don't mess with our teams. The Indians (indians.com), the Browns (clevelandbrowns.com), the Cavs (cavs.com)-sometimes they don't, well, live up to our dreams. Or even our bare minimum expectations. But they're like our mom or our sister-only we get to make fun of them. We live and die by sports, which is why you can make the best (and most raucous) friends, even for a couple of hours, at any arena or sports bar in town. So check your hometown affiliations at the county line-'cause in Cleveland, you're not just required to root for our teams, you'll have a helluva time if you do.
LGBT LEAGUES
Of course, you can also get off the sidelines. Just about every sport is covered in our LGBT leagues. Try North Coast Softball, Lake Erie Volleyball Association, the North Coast Athletics Flag Football League, North Coast Bowling Association, and Cleveland Out and About (a group that organizes hikes, canoe trips and other outdoorsy activities for LGBT folks). To find a sport and connect with various leagues around town in advance of the 2014 Gay Games, visit Team CLE at teamcle.org.
CONNECTING CLEVELAND
TRANSPORTATION Car lovers rejoice Cleveland is
a city with ample parking and practically no traffic jams. But public transportation is also at the ready. The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) (riderta.com) has earned top honors for its BRT Healthline service, the bus-rapid connector between downtown and University Circle. And a "free with a smile" trolley system connects you all over downtown. SIGHTSEEING Seeing the gorgeous Northeast Ohio landscape doesn't require as much physical activity as you'd think. Consider a sunset cruise up the Cuyahoga River and on Lake Erie on the Goodtime III (goodtimeiii.com) (departing from the East Ninth Street Pier) or the Nautica Queen (nauticaqueen.com) (embarking on the west bank of the Flats). You, and up to 37 of your friends and family, can also hop on a city sightseeing tour aboard Lolly the Trolley (lollytrolley.com). ABOVE: RTA Trolley

THAT'S FUN
There's even more fun to be had if you look beyond our Big Three.
The Burning River Roller Girls (burningriverrollergirls.com) are Ohio's first all-female flat-track roller derby league. Their outlandish and LGBT-friendly season spans February through July. Cleveland also fields a second football team-the Gladiators (clevelandgladiators.com), part of the high-flying Arena Football League. And if you like your action bruising and on ice, the Lake Erie Monsters (lakeeriemonsters.com) are our American Hockey League team.

Au NATURAL
If you want less structure, explore our extensive and awe-inspiring Cleveland Metroparks (clevelandmetroparks.com), a chain of reservations with hike, bike and horse-riding trails; beaches; and picnic areas. Just west of downtown, Edgewater Park is in the middle of a revitalization, with a restored beach and new rec facilities to come. A short drive south takes you to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (nps.gov/cuva), the highlight of which may be the Towpath Trail, a 20-mile journey for runners, walkers and bicyclists along the former route of the Ohio and Erie Canal.
